“Establishing Designer <> Engineer Synergy at a Lean Startup with Limited Resources”

As the core UX designer in an Agile environment that is fast paced and does not have a lot of runway at any given point I have gone from struggling with the time and being at odds to ensure research is at the forefront of design to finding a good pace with a team of 6 engineers to develop first and THEN leverage analytics for insights. I would like to share these lessons with other designers out there — emphasizing the importance of prioritizing on every level right from processes all the way to feature development understanding how to have a clear analysis of costs and benefits when resources are limited.

Saniya makes use of her background in user experience design and product development to improve value, usability and ‘delight’ of products. She has a passion for building transformative experiences and bridging technology as a tool for communities. Saniya has worked on design challenges in a broad diversity of industries, from web and mobile applications, to emerging blockchain, civic engagement and computational imaging demo experiences. She thoroughly enjoys collaborating to develop investigative, systematic and creative approaches to design problems. She likes to start and end with the user, and believes this is the key to a successful design process.
